Scope of Care
Appointments are now being scheduled for all school and sport-related physicals during our normal office hours, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday thru Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. Call now for your appointment. Primary Care Group offers health care services for all age groups, from newborn to geriatric, as well as offering minor surgery services, including application and removal of sutures, and mole/wart removal. We have eight physicians and four mid-level providers who work together in order to provide you with the best possible health care, whatever your age or needs may be. Centrally located, our Radiology Department has the ability to do any plain film X-ray from your head to your toes in a quick and orderly fashion. Our X-ray unit is fully automated and has an elevating bed that will lower down to 20 inches for wheelchair accessibility.
The lab is composed of skilled technical professionals who utilize state of the art technology. With a licensed supervisor, medical lab tech and phlebotomist we are able to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease and therapeutic protocols. Our lab provides comprehensive testing in the following areas: chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and coagulation. Drug testing and collection is available with a Medical Review Officer on staff. Ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging modality that utilizes sound waves to obtain an image or picture of various organs or blood vessels in the body. It is a safe and painless procedure that does not use radiation. Ultrasound can be used to view the heart, abdominal organs, carotid arteries, veins in the arms or legs, and babies prior to delivery. The films will be reviewed by a radiologist or cardiologist, and a report will be sent to your physician. Staffed with a Registered Sonographer, our Ultrasound Department has the ability to perform and record Echocardiograms, Venous, Carotid and Aortic, as well as scanning and filming the various organs in the body. Our Ultrasound Department has been accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories. We have the capability to perform, read and interpret our echocardiograms. Offering the latest in Bone Densitometery, the DXA QDR 4500 Elite at our facility is capable of testing and analyzing the AP lumbar spine (lower back), right or left hip, and, if necessary the forearm in less than a minute for each exam. Total time for a complete Bone Density is 10 minutes. Completely non-invasive and very comfortable, a Bone Density is the best way to determine if you have Osteoporosis. We are currently doing Bone Densities on Tuesdays. Primary Care Group's Registered Dietitian, Kelley Gates, RD, LD, provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients referred by their physicians. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Murray State University and completed a Dietetic Internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She has over ten years experience providing nutritional counseling to patients with diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, kidney disease, food allergies and obesity. She provides up-to-date nutrition information on topics such as carbohydrate counting, DASH diet to lower blood pressure, lower fat cooking methods, food label reading, weight control for children, healthy restaurant meals and fad diets. If you are interested in personalized nutrition advice from a registered dietitian, please have you physician refer you for an appointment. Medicare now covers Medical Nutrition Therapy for patients with diabetes or some types of kidney disease. Insurance companies may also cover dietitian services depending on your medical condition. Occupational & Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy - Focuses on the upper body and activities of daily living and utilizes functional activities as part of treatment.
These treatments do not involve dangerous manipulations to the spine or unproved methods of "natural" therapy. Services are supervised by a physician, and are generally covered by most insurance plans.

The lab at Primary Care Group is ready to serve your diagnostic testing needs by providing care six days a week, thirteen hours a day.
